This system is available to allow institutions to correct errors in their prior year data submissions.
Components included Opens Closes
Institutional Characteristics, Completions, and 12-month Enrollment September 11 November 4
Student Financial Aid, Graduation Rates and 200% Graduation Rates December 11 February 12
Fall Enrollment, Finance, and Human Resources December 11 April 9

Not all data items on the Institutional Characteristics component may be revised; screens will indicate when revisions will not be saved.

If you failed to respond to one or more of the prior year surveys, you may also supply your missing data using this system.
Login to the Prior Year Data Revision System using your 2013-14 UserID and password. This will start with P or 88G if you are a keyholder.
From the Surveys page, click the Print Data link in the Options column. Scroll to the bottom of the form and click the Print button.
If the survey is locked, you must first determine who administered the final (last) lock. To identify that person, go to the Reports menu, and select Review Plan. The person who made the final lock has the highest number in the Lock column. If you made the final lock, you may contact the Help Desk to unlock the survey. Otherwise you must contact the person who made the final lock about revising the data. The Help Desk will unlock the final (last) lock only.

After entering and saving any revised data, click the link to Perform Edits on the Surveys screen, and resolve any edit problems that may appear. You must then re-lock the survey. You will receive a confirmation email that your survey data have been locked.
If the survey is not locked, the data may be entered by the keyholder, or by any coordinator who has Update access to the institution's data. To identify those with access to the data, go to the Reports menu, and select Review Plan. Each person with access to the data is identified, as is the lock order for submitting data. The first locker is the person with the lowest number in the Lock column. The Help Desk does NOT need to be contacted if the data are not locked.

After entering and saving your data, click the link to Perform Edits on the Surveys screen, resolve any edit problems that appear, and lock your data. You will receive a confirmation email that your survey has been locked.

WARNING:
The availability of this system DOES NOT IMPLY that institutions are no longer required to report data according to the 2013-14 IPEDS collection schedule. This is NOT an extension of your due date and the office of Federal Student Aid will continue to take appropriate action against schools that do not meet their IPEDS reporting requirements.
The completion of all IPEDS surveys, in a timely and accurate manner, is mandatory for all institutions that participate or are applicants for participation in any Federal financial assistance program authorized by Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended. The completion of the surveys is mandated by 20 USC 1094, Section 487(a)(17).
The collection and reporting of racial/ethnic data are mandatory for all institutions that receive, are applicants for, or expect to be applicants for Federal financial assistance as defined in the Department of Education (ED) regulations implementing Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (34 CFR 100.13), or defined in any ED regulations implementing Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972. The collection of racial/ethnic data in vocational programs is mandated by Section 421(a)(1) of the Carl D. Perkins Vocational Education Act.
The Fall Staff section of the Human Resources component is also mandated by P.L. 88-352, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended by the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972 (29 CFR 1602, subparts O, P, and Q), in odd-numbered years (i.e., 2007-08, 2009-10, etc.), for institutions with fifteen (15) or more full-time employees.
For those institutions not required to complete this survey on the basis of the above requirements, completion is voluntary and authorized by P.L. 103-382, National Education Statistics Act of 1994, Sec. 404(a).
IPEDS data are not collected under a pledge of confidentiality.
